Arrival

Friends, I have arrived. After about 30 hours of travel my team and I have made it to Côte d’Ivoire. Thank you for your prayers for safe travels, things could not have gone any smoother than they did!

Yesterday afternoon we were picked up by our team leaders from Côte d’Ivoire, and have spent yesterday evening and today on the coast in a small city called Grand Bassam. We were able to walk through the city and along the beach today. The picture you see is of a fishing boat that was out early this morning and was taking a break as we were walking down the beach. 🙂

Tomorrow we will drive up to Bouake where we will spend the next 2 months living. While there, we will spend the bulk of our time learning French and the culture.

I cannot wait to begin sharing with you what I learn, but as for now, all I can say is there will be a lot! Today has given me a glimpse of the beauties of my new home for the year, but has also made it clear there are a lot of unknowns as well. Please continue to pray with me as I jump in!

    1. I do, yes. My first 2 months here I will have French lessons Monday through Friday from a teacher here. This is set up through the program I am here with, so I am not really sure what to suggest about learning French before you travel.
